High School Students from Europe
My stay in Nova Scotia is just full of new experiences. Right from the beginning I had a lot of friends who helped wherever they could and supported me when I was a little homesick. Now I can’t imagine a life without them.I have two homes, New Glasgow and Germany.
I had the pleasure to attend the brand new school, North Nova Education Centre, and soon found my place in this beautiful environment. Teachers, students and all staff helped me and I’m in the bands, in choir and even got crowned the 1st Queen ever of this school.
Thank you, everyone, you made my stay here amazing and my departure really hard.

I am here in Canada for one year and it’s better than I’ve ever thought it would be. I like mt school very much. It’s not too hard and the people are super nice.
I think my host family is one of the best available. They’re awesome and they do much for me. I just don’t want to think about my depart in July.

My main reason for coming to Canada and participating in this program was to do something different and to be different. And I definitely did something different than all the other students in Germany. I took the great opportunity that was offered to me, and right now there is not one thing that I regret about it.
I learned a lot about myself, about another country, different mentalities, and about a different lifestyle. I met a lot of overwhelmingly nice people at my high school and I appreciate the time that I am allowed to spend in Canada a lot.
I just passed test for my beginner’s driver’s license, another adventure that I had during my stay. I went on a snowboarding trip that was organized by the program and this alosg ot me in touch with people from all over the world.
I also want to mention my amazing host parents that made me feel as if I was in Germany, in my own family. There are so many people that I want to thank for making this experience so valuable for me. And even though I miss Germany sometimes I can’t imagine how much I am going to miss this country and these amazing people when I go back home.”

When I first decided to go to Canada for one year, it was nothing more than a crazy idea! My English was bad at the beginning, and I often had to repeat myself. After a few weeks, though, I could almost say and understand anything. It’s surprising how fast it goes. My host family was really nice and supportive the whole time.
I joined the drama club, cross country and track and field. It was a good way to meet people and make friends outside of class. I made a lot of new experiences during this year. The program organized trips to Toronto and Niagara Falls, and it was very impressive. We also went rafting with all the other foreign students. It was interesting, too, to meet people of lots of different countries and cultures. I have friends from all over the world now!
I don’t regret going on the program at all. I had the best year in my life. It was wonderful experience, and I want to say thanks to everybody who made it possible. Thanks!
