Our focus is to help you strengthen aspects of the four basic language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Our partners use various teaching resources such as computers, magazines, videos, etc. and such activities as field trips, group and pair work, language games, etc. Teachers will invite you to share your background, interests and goals in order to make your learning experience an incredible one!

Overview:

Communication

The emphasis is on speaking and listening skills for all kinds of social and cultural situations. Speak up! Build your vocabulary, improve your listening skills, increase accuracy, learn idioms and practice speaking in a range of situations. The focus is on you and your interests. Several levels are offered from Pre-Beginner to Advanced.

Academic Preparation

Develop your English reading, writing and grammar skills… Develop your reading, writing, conversation, grammar and vocabulary skills. Several levels are offered for Pre-Beginner to Advanced, and the program is especially advised if you wish to pursue academic studies in North America and abroad. Students are given a percentage grade for completion of this course. To advance to the next level, a minimum grade and certain criteria must be met.

Business English

Build the English skills essential for success in the business world. Take one of three levels of Business English to acquire business English vocabulary, grammar and social etiquette for professional situations, i.e. making appointments, attending meetings, writing a resumé, business conversation, etc. The course combines the four basic English skills with interactive activities.

Test Preparation

  • Prepare for all the standards: TOEFL, TOEIC and the FCE and CAE Cambridge tests.
  • Prepare for the standard English language tests with these comprehensive preparation courses.
  • Learn effective strategies for test preparation.
  • Practice with the tests.
  • Apply the test language to real-life language situations.

Cooperative Education

Learn English or French in the classroom and then put it all into practice with a professional Canadian company. This innovative, 2 to 6 month program combines 1 to 3 months of in-class language instruction with 1 to 3 months of language practice in a professional environment. While the primary purpose is to practice English in the Canadian workplace, our Coordinators will try to find a placement that is suitable to your educational background and interests. There are a variety of schedules available and certain foundation courses apply. The program is offered to High Intermediate and Advanced Level students.

Executive Business

English Headed for business in the English-speaking marketplace? If you want to improve all aspects of your business-related English skills, this is the course for you! The Executive English Program is ideal for companies and individuals who wish to expand their personal business skills as well as prepare for possible entry into specific Canadian market niches. A high level of proficiency in English can be achieved in a short period of time as well as an understanding of Canadian business culture and cross-cultural laws that pertain to organizations, employee relations, taxation, government regulations, and the Canadian legal system. The program also provides exposure to computer business applications such as accounting, databases, internet, web-pages and electronic communications.

Private Tutoring

Private teaching provides on-site catering to your individual learning needs. Scheduling is flexible and all tutors are qualified, experienced teachers. Choices range from 10 to 30 hours per week of one-to-one instruction in several languages world-wide.
